Our ServicesCosmetic Dentistry

Being comfortable with your appearance is very important for self-esteem and confidence. Self-confidence usually translates to a happier, healthier and more successful individual.

Here at Vantage Dental, we are only to keen to help you achieve an appearance you desire.  Let us be part of your self-transformation journey!

White fillings

Composite resin restorations are the most common restorations used, due to their natural white appearance. Composite resin is the material of choice, due to the reduction of cavity preparation and its superior bonding capacity.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth Whitening is a very popular procedure undertaken by more and more people everyday. It is simple, easy, safe and effective, providing whiter teeth and brighter smiles. We are proud to offer you value for money and flexibility, with our take home whitening kit. This allows you to whiten your teeth in your own time, in the comfort of your own home, to the shade you desire.

Our procedure involves the production of customised trays through impressions and moulding. The customised trays can then be used at your own convenience, by simply applying a whitening gel to the trays. A thorough scale and polish should be done prior to any whitening treatment. We are more than happy to talk you through this process and provide you with written instructions.

Our whitening system is gentle, causes minimal sensitivity and best of all, top-up whitening gel can be purchased at any time for that extra little sparkle.

Crowns

A crown can provide both a brilliant appearance and structural stability and strength to a tooth. Various materials are used to crown teeth such as porcelain, metal (usually gold), or a combination of both. We pride ourselves on providing expert advice on which solution best suites your needs.

Placing a crown involves removing some of the natural material of the tooth followed by taking an impression. This is then sent to a technician who makes the crown. A temporary crown will be placed over your tooth while the permanent crown is being made. The final Crown will then be bonded over the prepared tooth at a subsequent appointment.

The most important step to ensure the longevity of your crown is to practice good oral hygiene by daily brushing, flossing and regular six monthly hygiene visits.

Bridge

In the event of a missing tooth or teeth, a bridge can provide both a practical and attractive solution.

After a thorough clinical and radiographic assessment, an impression is taken to create a temporary bridge. The teeth on either side of the gap are then prepared for crowns. A final impression is taken and sent to the laboratory where a joining bridge is fabricated. In a subsequent appointment the bridge is cemented to the supporting teeth “to close the gap”.

We are happy to provide information on every step of this procedure to assist you in deciding if a bridge is the best solution for you.

It is very important to replace a missing tooth as soon as possible as teeth tend to move, drift and tilt. This can affect your bite and compromise the space for a future “false” tooth.

Dental Veneers

Veneers are custom made facings that are permanently bonded to your teeth. They correct imperfections such as stained, chipped, worn, gapped or crooked teeth. Veneers are extremely popular as they enable people to achieve a near perfect smile.

Veneers can be made from composite resin (white filling) or porcelain. Each has its own advantage. Porcelain veneers are very strong, durable and highly resistant to discolouration. They usually require more reshaping of the teeth, are more expensive and require two or more visits. Alternatively, composite resin veneers can be created quicker, are cheaper, but are less durable.

We are more than happy to further discuss both options to help you choose the best solution for you.

Dental Implants

Dental Implants are used to replace one or more teeth by placing a titanium screw into your jaw bone either under local or general anaesthesia. A crown, bridge or denture is then fabricated and fitted over the screw to restore function and cosmetic appearance.

Dental Implants are an excellent solution for patients that have false teeth, or those that have lost a tooth and don’t wish to wear dentures. Dental Implants are becoming increasingly popular as they can reproduce the look, feel and function of your natural teeth.

Not everyone is suitable for implant dentistry. Patients need to be in good overall health, have healthy gums and have sufficient bone to help support an implant. We can help you decide if a dental implant is the best solution for you.
